Since our establishment in the 1980’s, the ABC Sheds team has been dedicated to creating exceptional custom sheds across the country. Starting as a backyard shed supplier based in Adelaide, mainly supplying garden sheds and aviaries, we’ve come a long way since then where we now share a goal to be the leading provider of custom steel building solutions in Eastern Australia. Our team is proud of our achievements to date, having completed numerous projects of various sizes that stand as a testament to our commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

Although bigger isn’t always better, we have built some spectacular large-scale sheds over the years. To inspire your next custom shed project, we are excited to highlight our five largest projects by square metre. These impressive structures exceed common shed sizes and showcase our versatility and expertise, ranging from expansive storage solutions to multi-purpose agricultural buildings. Read on to explore these standout projects and see how they might inspire your plans for the future.

Project 1: Dubbo Industrial Shed

Large sheds Australia - Dubbo project

Location: Dubbo, NSW
Measurements: 123.5m x 48m
Completed: September 2011

About this project

In 2011, this client reached out to ABC Sheds to build an industrial shed for his company, MacDonald & Co Wool Brokers. As specialist wool brokers, the client needed a shed that was not only big enough to store large quantities of wool at a time but also needed office space for staff. To enable easier access for the staff and delivery drivers, we added roller and slide doors on the sides of the shed. It was also important that the wool was not damaged while being transported so we attached a large awning to protect the product from the weather during the unloading/loading process.

Project 2: Boonah Showgrounds

Custom farm shed - Boonah project

Location: Boonah, Queensland
Measurements: 90.2m x 60m
Completed: July 2023

About this project

Due to our long-lasting relationship with Equestrian Land Developments (ELD), we teamed up to build a showground shed for their client's Boonah location. We worked with ELD to design a showground shed large enough to host dressage competitions while providing protection from the elements and fitting the aesthetic of the client's current property.

Project 3: Large industrial Shed

Custom Shed - Yass project

Location: Yass, NSW
Measurements: 102m x 35m
Completed: October 2017

About this project

Martins Fertilisers came to us in 2017 seeking an industrial shed to store their products year-round. Instead of using electricity for lighting, the client wanted a natural solution so we used panels of skylights to provide natural lighting. As pictured, the industrial shed had concrete tilt panels at the base and we used a vented ridge to give sufficient ventilation for the fertiliser. This was the first shed we had designed and built for this client and he was so happy with the results that he is now a repeat customer!

Project 4: Loafing barn

Farm shed - Vacy project

Location: Vacy, NSW
Measurements: 112m x 29.4m
Completed: March 2019

About this project

A large farm requires a large custom farm shed which is exactly why this client sought the help of ABC Sheds. The client needed a loafing barn for his dairy cows. To complete this project, we used vented ridge side rails and awnings for both practical and aesthetic purposes. With a red finish around the edges of this shed, all parties were very pleased with how this project turned out.

Project 5: Topsoil Organics

Large shed Australia - Daroogabie project

Location: Daroogabie, NSW
Measurements: 80m x 40m
Completed: October 2023

About this project

Agricultural Soil Health Consultants, Topsoil Organics, approached our team to build a massive 80m x 40m shed to store their premium soil year-round. This shed was designed to be multipurpose. We built the walls at different heights, with the front being shorter than the back. This was so that they had room to unload their tipper trucks. The back half of the shed included skylights on the roof to provide natural lighting for the fertiliser. We also opted for slide doors as this shed would be accessed frequently by staff.
