Everything in your shed kit

Structural steel framework

The complete structural steel framework includes all the columns, rafters that support the roof structure, purlins and girts that provide horizontal bracing, and all necessary bracing components for stability and strength. Our structures use hot-dip galvanised structural steel, which provides superior corrosion resistance and longevity compared to lightweight alternatives.

Premium cladding materials

Your farm shed kit includes all the wall and roof cladding needed to enclose your structure. We supply premium Colorbond® or Zincalume® sheeting, both excellent choices for Australian conditions. Colorbond® offers a range of colours and excellent weather resistance, while Zincalume® provides outstanding durability with a distinctive metallic finish. The choice often comes down to aesthetic preference and specific environmental conditions on your property.

Flashings and trims

Ridge capping, barge caps, flashings, gutters, and downpipes all come standard. These components are crucial for proper water management and protecting your structure from the elements.

Assembly hardware

Every screw, bolt, nut, and bracket needed to put your farm sheds together is supplied. There's nothing more frustrating than being halfway through a build and discovering you're missing fasteners. Our kits include all the hardware specified in the engineering plans, organised and ready to use.

Engineering plans and construction manual

The certified engineering plans and detailed construction manual provide your builders with clear, step-by-step instructions and technical specifications. The engineering certification is also what you'll need for council approvals and building permits. Our plans are designed to be straightforward and easy to follow, making the construction process as smooth as possible.

If you're still weighing up your options or want to understand more about choosing the right structure for your needs, we've got you covered. Check out our complete guide to shed kits to make an informed decision.

Shed kits explained

What's not included in your shed kit

Some items are handled separately because they depend on your specific site and local requirements.

Concrete slab and footings

The foundation work is always handled separately from the shed kit itself. Your concrete slab or footings need to be engineered and poured to match your specific soil conditions, local regulations, and the engineering specifications provided with your kit. This work should be completed before your farm shed kit arrives on site.

Construction tools and equipment

Your shed kit includes all the components and fasteners, but you'll need to provide the tools for assembly. For large farm sheds, this typically means access to a scissor lift or telehandler for handling larger items, along with standard construction tools like drills, socket sets, and levels. Most professional builders already have these on hand.

Site preparation

Getting your site ready is your responsibility. This includes clearing vegetation, levelling the ground, managing drainage, and ensuring vehicle access for delivery trucks and construction equipment. Proper site preparation makes a huge difference to how smoothly your build progresses.

Internal fit-outs

Once your shed kit is assembled, any internal work is separate. This includes electrical installation, plumbing, insulation, internal partitions, doors beyond those specified in your original design, and any specialised equipment or fittings. These elements vary dramatically depending on your intended use, so they're always handled as additional works.

Council approvals and permits

We provide all the engineering documentation you'll need for the approval process, but obtaining council permits and building approvals remains the landowner's responsibility. Requirements vary between councils and depend on your specific location, so it's worth getting this process started early. We're happy to help guide you through what documentation you'll need.
