The Solution
ABC Sheds delivered a 72m x 24m three-sided hay shed featuring nine 8-metre bays and a generous 6.2m height at the eave. The 10° gable roof design efficiently sheds water while maximising internal storage volume.
The structure rests on robust 410 UB hot-dipped galvanised columns with 750mm hot-dip galvanised open web joist trusses providing exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. Both roof and wall framing use Z 20015 purlins and girts for reliable structural support.
Zincalume .42 BMT sheeting covers the roof, which includes sarking and mesh for additional protection. The three enclosed sides feature Colorbond .42 BMT sheeting, offering excellent durability against the elements.
With future expansion in mind, the design includes bolting holes for adding sliding doors on both gutter long sides. Additional bolting holes allow for a cantilevered awning off the open side, giving the Delaney family options to enhance their shed as needs change.
