The Solution
ABC Sheds built a 64m x 22m roof-only arena cover with a 5m eave height and 7.5° gable pitch. The structure features 360 UB hot-dipped galvanised columns arranged in eight bays of 8 metres each, providing a clear span arena with excellent structural strength.
The roof uses galvanised open web joist trusses with Z 20015 purlins supporting .47 TCT Cottage Green sheeting. This combination delivers reliable weather protection while maintaining the bright, airy feel that's ideal for horse training.
The open-sided design allows for natural ventilation and easy access from all directions, essential for safe horse movement and training activities. The substantial eave height provides plenty of clearance for mounted riders while the wide span eliminates any internal obstacles.
Guttering and 100mm PVC downpipes manage rainwater runoff effectively, keeping the arena surface dry and usable even during heavy rainfall.
