Every Trade approached us on behalf of a client, asking for a Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA). Outdoor learning is critical in development and sports so the client needed a large school COLA structure providing shelter for learning activities year-round.

The Challenge

The priority for this COLA shelter was to create a safe environment for students to learn and play, while keeping the courts looking clean and fresh. The school COLA had to be constructed over existing courts and the client was clear they wanted the courts to remain in pristine condition.

The Solution

The Covered Outdoor Learning Area ABC Sheds delivered is a large, 5-bay COLA shelter measuring 36 metres by 36 metres. The shelter's height is 5.2 metres, allowing plenty of room for sports equipment, such as netball and basketball hoops. Each bay is 7.2 metres wide, with open sides enabling easy access. 

The clear-span structure is also ideal for flexibility inside the shelter, providing open space for sports courts and learning.
