Find your perfect shedEvery farm is different, which is why we offer a range of designs to suit your needs.
Whether you are storing hay, housing livestock, or protecting equipment, ABC Sheds can tailor a structure that fits. Roof-only hay, machinery, and yard-cover sheds start at about AU $150 per square metre, while fully enclosed designs begin at approximately AU $250 per square metre.
Most rural projects sit between AU $50,000 and AU $150,000+, but final cost is shaped by span, height, cladding, extras such as doors or skylights, wind rating, and site works, so our team will quote precisely for your location and layout.
Hay structures maximise airflow to keep feed dry, stack easily for loaders, and can be enclosed later to match growth in storage needs while remaining compliant with regional wind ratings.
Our machinery sheds offer clear spans up to 16 m, extra roof height, and flexible layouts such as open front, drive through, or fully enclosed, giving safe shelter for headers and sprayers without restricting access.
Dairy sheds use hot dip galvanised steel to resist corrosion, integrate with feed pads and milking platforms, and maintain strong airflow so cattle stay comfortable and hygiene standards remain high.
Shearing facilities from ABC Sheds feature raised flooring, efficient pen flow, and ample natural light, creating a safe workspace for shearers and a smoother process for stock and wool handling.
Our enclosed or three sided grain sheds provide wide doorways for augers and tippers, sealed cladding to control dust, and corrosion resistant framing that stands up to fertiliser or grain handling.
Yard covers span cattle or sheep pens without internal posts, cutting heat stress and rain delays, while site specific engineering ensures the structure ties seamlessly into crushes, raceways, and concrete aprons.
Every farm is different, and your shed should be too. We offer the full COLORBOND® steel palette of 22 classic and contemporary colours, so you can match your shed to the landscape, existing buildings, or energy efficiency goals. The same COLORBOND® steel provides proven strength and durability. Whether you live near the coast or prefer a cooler roof shade, it is engineered to keep your shed looking good and performing well across diverse conditions.
Our shed frames are engineered to suit Australian conditions and can be customised to suit your specific needs. Here are some of our common clear spans, with no internal posts or columns:
12m, 15m, 18m, 21m, 24m, 30m, 36m, 40m, 46m, 50m, 60m

As farmers, you know the importance of quality storage, and we're no different. Not only does good storage help to protect your farming equipment from the elements, but a well-built farm shed also contributes to the preservation of the equipment's quality, resulting in a better trade-in value. Our sheds are manufactured from only the best structural steel.
ABC Sheds farm buildings and rural sheds are site-specifically engineered by an independent structural engineer. Quality building materials and our rigorous manufacturing process also ensure that all ABC sheds are compliant with the Australian Building Code. Your farm shed will be designed with your requirements and local climate in mind. As we like to say, designed for you, made to last.
If you need large openings to fit headers or boom sprays, ABC Sheds has you covered. We offer different designs to suit your specific storage capacity. Our sheds can have bay openings of up to 16 metres in width and with 8 metre wide bays. There's plenty of room for the tractors. Whether you want farm equipment storage with sliding or roller doors, open gable ends, or fully enclosed bays, our team can provide the right options for your ideal solution.
When planning a new farm shed, it pays to think ahead. Here are a few practical tips to help get the most out of your investment:
In most cases, yes. Council approvals are usually required for large rural sheds, especially if they exceed a certain size or are close to boundaries. Some exemptions apply depending on your location and land zoning. ABC Sheds provides certified plans and will guide you through the approval process to ensure your shed meets all local requirements.
Sheds must sit on a flat, level base. Enclosed sheds often have a concrete slab, while open sheds like hay or yard covers may only need compacted ground. We recommend building your pad at least 3 metres wider on all sides for access. Our team can advise the best base based on your shed type and site.
Most custom farm shed projects take around 3 to 5 months from planning to completion, especially for larger builds. However, if you're needing something sooner, our DuraKit range can be completed within 2 to 4 weeks. We’ll give you a tailored timeline based on your project.
Clear the area of debris, level the ground, and compact the soil. If using a slab, allow a few weeks for the pad to settle before construction. Make sure there's enough space around the site for cranes and equipment. Our team can advise if anything else is needed for your location.
